Through her experience of leading policy and campaigns departments within the trade union movement and voluntary sector, Nancy Platts has examined and commented on a number of government policy
areas.
Her contributions have covered transport, employment rights, family policy (especially childcare and parental rights as part of tackling child poverty and social exclusion), equality and low pay,
and health inequalities and the NHS. She has worked with the TSSA, the transport trade union, the Daycare Trust, the national childcare campaign, as well as the Maternity Alliance, National
Childbirth Trust, Child Poverty Action Group, and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Nancy, who lives in Hanover, has a good understanding of local and devolved government through her experience of working in the London Fire Brigade and the Greater London Authority. She has also
worked with the Welsh Assembly and Scottish Parliament through UK charities.
