West Hill Local Action Group

It was a pleasure to join the West Hill Action Team at their first meeting on Wednesday night. Residents raised lots of issues that need to be tackled including noise, fly-tipping, graffiti, dog fouling and speeding traffic. It was great to see so many people there.

I would like to pay tribute to the council officers, PCSO, councillors and residents for taking the time to get involved and for approaching the initiative with such a positive ‘can do’ attitude – I can already tell that this is a Local Action Team that is going to get results!

Local Action Teams have been successful in many areas of Brighton, bringing communities together to tackle a variety of local problems and acting as a positive force for change.

There is always room for more people to get involved so if you live in the West Hill area and have an issue that has been bugging you for a while or if you have an idea about how to create a better community, please do come along to the next meeting, join the team and start taking action.

Details for the West Hill and other Local Action Teams can be found at http://www.safeinthecity.info.  If you don’t have access to the internet then get in touch or give your local councillor a call and I am sure they will be happy to help.
