Visits to Downs School and the YMCA Dialogue Centre

Last week I went to meet parents at Downs Junior School just before the parents' assembly about 'The History of the Harvest Festival'.

And last Friday, it was a real pleasure to join everyone at the official opening of The YMCA Dialogue Centre in Windlesham Road for tea, cakes and the wonderful steel band from Somerhill School. The children had a go at teaching me how to play the steel drums and one of the young people took this photo for me!

The Dialogue Centre will provide a much needed space for counselling for children and young people and for family mediation. The staff, trustees, Council Officers and others have worked incredibly hard to get the Edwardian building refurbished to create this warm and welcoming space. I wish them all the very best of luck for the future.
