Out in Hanover with Ed Balls

It was great to get out and about on Saturday in Hanover to meet residents and talk about the issues that matter to them. Alongside local activists, it was great to have Children's Secretary Ed Balls with me.

Ed spent time knocking on doors and talking to people, including quite a few teachers who certainly appreciated the opportunity to meet the secretary of state. It's important to me that whilst Labour Conference is in town that we don't spend all our time within the conference centre, looking inward so this was a good time to get out there and talk to people who really matter.

All in all it was a great afternoon, and in true Labour tradition we finished the session with a pint in the Charles Napier on Southover Street.
