Lots of residents have been raising concerns with me about growing numbers of lapdancing clubs in Brighton Pavilion so we ran a stall outside Waitrose in Western Road so local people could sign our petition and take a model letter to send to the Council. More information about my action to stop the growth in lapdancing clubs is on this website. The organisation Object have led on this campaign and you can support their campaign by visiting http://www.object.org.uk/
After a quick bite to eat we went to the Phoenix 10-year Anniversary Celebration at the Phoenix Estate. The event was in full swing when we arrived and it was good to meet local residents, stallholders and Shana Layzell and Paul Tilley who work with local residents managing the community centre and local facilities. It was very kind of Paul to take time out from his busy event to show us around. The community centre is lovely inside with IT facilities, a hall, kitchen and meeting rooms.
From here it was straight up Albion Hill home to catch up on some letters and emails.
