Introduction of Welding Procedure Qualification Record: Welding Procedure Qualification Record(WPQR  for short)is one kind of evaluation of test process and result to prove the validity of the welding technology of welding drawn up or welding ability evaluation.



1Assess whether welds unit is capable of welding soldered jointwhich conform to the requirements of relevant national or trade standards and technical specifications.

2.Verify whether the welding process instructions which is formulated by the welds units is correct.

3.Provide reliable technical basis for developing formal welding process instructions or welding process card.

4.Assessment of welding ability.


Application scope of Welding Procedure Qualification Record:

1, apply to the manufacturing, installation, maintenance and repair work of boiler, pressure vessel, pressure piping, Bridges, ships, aerospace, nuclear, bearing steel and other steel equipment.

2, suitable for welding, welding rod arc welding , tungsten argon arc welding, melting polar gas shielded arc welding, submerged arc welding, plasma arc welding, electroslag welding and other welding methods.


Process assessment:

1.Preliminary Welding Procedure Specification (PWPS for short)

2.Welding and making specimen

3.test specimens and samples

4.Determinewhether the welding joint meet the using performance that the standards required.

5.make the welding procedure qualification report to assess the proposed welding process instructions.
